Will America be Last, Now?

Jesus said, “and behold some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.” (Luke 13:30)

Arguably the U.S. of A. has been first. First in development; first in resources that have been put to good use; first in prosperity; first in abundance; and first in access to the Gospel. But our spiritual fervor has burned low, and love for God through Christ has waned.

Meanwhile, in China, in Africa, in South America the Gospel is spreading and people are coming to faith in God. Many parts of the world have been last in abundance and prosperity, and more significantly, in access to the Gospel. Could it be that the last are beginning to be first, and the first are beginning to be last? even now?

Oh, how desperately we need for the fresh wind of God’s Spirit to blow across our land. We need to humble ourselves, and pray, and seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways, (our arrogance, our selfishness, our wastefulness, our rebellion against God, our apathy to the things of God, our idolatry). We need a renewal of spiritual fervor.

“Please, O God, stir our hearts again to seek You with all of our might. Please revive our land.”
