I have written a blog entitled “Let’s do the Holy Pokie” and I am sure some will whine about it when they read it, so it is a restricted audience. If you want to read this blog, you will need to request it.

I suppose, working in churches for over 19 years now, I have seen this more than the average person would and I agree with your observation. Some people seem to be quick to get their toes stepped on or their feelings hurt by their fellow church members or a pastor. So they going “church shopping”, as I call it.
I experienced a very traumatic job dismissal from the church I am a member of. When that happened I had a choice to make, let that event in my life turn me against “my” church, where I felt years earlier God had called me to, or seek His will for what He wanted me to do. Not one time, during that time of seeking His will, did I hear God say, “you need to find another church because of what happened to you here”. Churches are made up of imperfect people, always have been, always will be.
I think the most important thing a person needs to do is earnestly pray and seek which church God wants them to worship, serve and be actively involved in and work in that church to be His light and live in unity in that body of believers. I believe this please Him and shows “the world” what the true Christian life looks like.
I am still at “my” church, going on 20+ years now. I am glad I listened to His leading, stayed and forgave those who hurt me. I have been SO blessed by being a part of that body of believers and I can’t imagine worshipping and serving anywhere else.
