What Does Your Religion Do About Sin?

It is my humble opinion that only one religious faith adequately deals with the problem of sin. I am not smart enough to say that I know every religion and that I can speak conclusively about every faith. But of those I have had the experience of contact with, only Christianity makes a provision for the problem of sin that delivers a death blow to its power and its penalty.

Whether it is a “man-made” religion for celebrities, such as Scientology, or a rapidly growing faith such as Islam, they come up short on the problem of sin. My Muslim friends in Mali tell me that one has to travel the road of rightteousness in order to find eternal life. The Bible says there are none righteous, and I believe we innately know that.

The Christian faith deals with the problem of sin by putting it to death on a cross. The eternal God comes and takes the place of all mankind in the person of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Only an infinite One can die for an infinite amount of sin. God Himself provided a solution to a debt we owed and could not pay. All other faiths leave somone guessing about the solution. Jesus, however, on the cross declares, “Paid in Full.”
