Famous Last Words

So what do you say that puts an exclamation point on 8 1/2 years of ministry? How do you communicate all the love you have for a group of people in just a few words? How do you express the challenge to fight the good fight, to press on the upward call, to keep the faith in one brief message? By no means do I think that my last words are going to be famous.

But in a just a few sentences and paragraphs this Sunday I want to express my love and appreciation for the church I have served as I say, not so much “good-bye” as “until later”. At the same time I pray I can instill in the hearts of the people the urgency of completing the mission that Christ has given us.

Probably at the end of the day the words will be forgotten. Ultimately it is the work of the Holy Spirit in the congregation that will make any difference at all. So Sunday, I am preaching a message entitled “The Secret”. What is the secret? Well, it is found in Hebrews 12:1-3, and you can come listen Sunday, or watch live streaming online, or check the archives next week.

Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all we might ask or think, to Him be glory in the church by the power that works in us through Christ Jesus, now and forever, Amen.

Brad, Hi! Hope you are well. Are you taking another church? If so where and which one?
