Jesus quoted Isaiah and said, “My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations.” (Mark 11:17.And he rebuked those gathered in the temple for turning it into a robber’s den. It was not just that they were conducting commerce in the temple, but they had blocked the court of the Gentiles. (Gentiles means “nations”). Those who were not Jewish had no other place to worship the one true living God. God has always been about the nations giving Him glory.
So often we have turned our churches into anything but a “house of prayer for the nations.” Do you h?ave an intentional strategy of praying for the Unreached and Unengaged peoples of the world? Those who have no access to the Gospel today number 1.7 billion. There are web sites where you can go and find the names of these people groups and begin to target them in prayer. One good example is http://www.joshuaproject.net/
In this Kingdom war we live in, our greatest weapon is “all prayer” (Eph. 6). Jesus told us to pray for laborers for the harvest. Will you pray for the nations? Jesus Christ is the ONLY real hope.
